Theia, an Illyrian female, despises her Court. She knows of the High Lord's secret city, and the wealth that thrives there. As the poorest of a poverty stricken village, Theia is forced to keep herself and her mother alive. Working two jobs and coming home to a dilapidated cabin, she runs thin. Nyx, the Heir of the Night Court, had taken interest in her during his residency at the Windhaven war camp. He pushes himself into her life after being scolded about his privilege. "Alex, I'm scared," my little brother whispered as we lay face down on the ground, waiting for the armed people to walk past us. "I know, Lukas. As soon as those people are gone, we'll find a place to stay, okay?" I whispered back, never taken my eyes of the people that wouldn't hesitate to kill us if they saw us. Just as they almost passed the clearing, they stopped. I lifted my head up to get a better view, when they saw me. Not wasting any time for them to get us, I sprung to my feet and hauled Lukas after me. And just how I guessed; they fired. After a disease took over a village in North-America, your only hope of survival was to run, and run far. Already before the disease began to spread, the village was suffering. There was little food, cold all year around and a population too big for it’s own good. Unlike the neighberhood city, which was bathing in money, more or less. Of course all other cities in the area around was disgusted by us, and couldn’t care less that the whole city was suffering. Without a second thought Alexa took the remains of her family, got her few belongings and took off to the woods. Determination to not give up was in her head at all times. But what happens when it gets to hard to protect everybody she loves. And what will she do when she meets a new, myesterious boy from the rich neighberhood city?
