A rebel double-crossed. A world fallen. And a relentless enemy who will not rest... Jack Gamble is a shattered man. His lover betrayed him. His contacts in the resistance are scattered. And his best friend may be dead. With the Galilei* Empire closing in, Jack's ship is intercepted by mercenaries under the command of Captain Ben Stone. Can Jack turn Ben to his cause, or will Ben turn him? But Jack can't afford any emotional entanglements. Not now. He has a rebellion to win and a homeworld to reclaim before the planet and its people are lost to the Empire forever. If you like action-packed science fiction adventure with undercover spies, ace pilots, special forces teams, wild battles, and a slow-burn romance, then this space opera is the book for you. *Note: in the early chapters, the Empire was "Corona" and the manuscript hasn't been updated to change that.

Less than forty years into the future, most of mankind has elected to upload themselves to digital nirvana, where they can live as many lives as they care to in parallel, in as many different fantasy worlds as they desire. A small percentage of humans, however, are loath to give up the mortal coil. These last holdouts are the escapees from the future. The question is, for how long? Will Mother, the sentient internet, be content with gentle prodding to upgrade and uplift? Or will she resort to more coercive means? Has she already, unbeknownst to the final holdouts?

Jill, Nathan, Ash, Chase and Tracy are left to pick up the pieces after discovering the true identity of Dr. Iris. The group decides to continue their fight against the anti-Possessor group called The O.N.E.S, and meet new friends and foes along the way. New dangers await them, not only from outside forces, but from one of their own. Nothing will ever be the same. This is a book I wrote for fun while I was living in Germany. My whole reason for writing it is that I feel there aren't enough strong gay characters in mainstream tv, literature, etc. I mean, how many of us (gays) have wished there were amazing gay X-Men, or Avengers, or Justice League members? The point of my book is not that the characters are gay. The point is that this is a sci-fi, X-Menesque story that just happens to have gay characters in it, like it was a normal occurance, not a big deal. I would have felt so awesome if books like Harry Potter, and Twilight, had had a character for me to identify with. On that note: Enjoy!

Ben is the lone inhabitant aboard the Deep Haul Corporation's Portsmouth, carrying resources from the main asteroid belt back to Earth. He's periodically woken from the stasis-like sleep that helps him pass the months of travel time to and from the belt in order to keep his body from withering away, and also to perform a regular diagnostic check on the solar sail. It's a boring job ... usually.
