Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

Sometimes the best choice you can make for yourself is the selfish one. Hermione knew that and she wouldn't apologize for it, even if it did end up costing her her friends. But people move on and Hermione formed a new life for herself. When her old friends see it first hand they start to think that maybe they had been wrong before. Too bad you can't change the past.

"No, i'm not going to tell them." She said. She could feel Draco stiffen next to her so she quickly continued. "But i'm not going to pretend we aren't together." Now Draco looked at her in question. "What do you mean, Mia?" "If they would have bothered to reply to any of my letters I would have told them like I planned. Now, I don't care wether they know or not." She said with a shrug. "Im going to act how I always act with you, it's up to them if they can figure it out." Draco smiled and gave her a quick kiss before turning to the rest of the group with a smirk. "You know, I think we can have some fun with this." Blaise, Theo and Pansy and returned the smirk and nodded. Ginny just looked at them all and then turned to Hermione. Hermione just chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Slytherins." Ginny grinned. Jk Rowling owns all characters!
