Florence Leontine Mary Welch, redhead twenty-five year old daughter of hardworking citizens Evelyn and Nicholas Welch, is discovered to have a great-great grandmother on Evelyn's side who is an escaped convicted witch. Evelyn, her husband and children Grace and JJ are safe, for they have been Confirmed under God's Church of Salem. Florence, however, is non-religious and chose to follow her own beliefs throughout her life, which leads the Hunters to believe she is a witch. She is immediately arrested and imprisoned in the Tower. When her family turn their backs on her, it's up to her childhood friends Isabella, Christopher, Tom, Robert and Mark to save her. The farther she ventures into the forest the more she learns about the witch she has been taught to fear, and about the real world around her. The story is based on the beautiful music by Florence and the machine, when you read you will fall deep into the abyss.
