I lie awake at night
And imagine running my fingers through your hair,
Feeling your strong arms
Around my waist,
Holding me close,
As if the world could fade away.
I would rest my head
Against your chest,
Listening to the rhythm
Of a heart I desire
to call my own.
In the quiet,
With only the stars to witness,
I would find a home
In your eyes, in your skin,
In your hold.
