After Malekith's attack on asgard, he is found and killed swiftly. Frigga is still dead, and Loki still imprisoned. They found a way to get the aether out of Jane and all is well. The avengers come to Asgard for a 5-year celebration of the battle of New York, when the topic of Loki comes up....

Captain Rogers didn't expect to find Loki, all wounded up and unconscious and completely defenseless lying limply on the floor, when he broke down HYDRA secret hideout. He didn't expect to take the God of Mischief home, under his care and protection, instead of turning him in to SHIELD like he knew he should. Oh, he certainly didn't expect to take Loki into his life. But life's full of surprises, right? ┈┈ ❋ ┈┈ Or. Steve knows he is a hero. Everybody knows that. Loki's punishment for attacking Midgard involves him staying in the Avengers Tower, helping to fix the city he tried to break, no magic allowed. With hateful stares directed at him everywhere he goes, Loki spirals downwards into a battle with himself, triggered by the memories of his time in the Void.
