Though, Elena very much loves her amazing gift and the warm love and welcome of the family, she felt like the family enigma, not knowing how and why, she got a gift and Mirabel didn't get hers instead, and she felt out of place in the family. Despite all that, she was very close with Mirabel, in fact, she was her best friend, and they were partners in crime, and each other's comfort. She also has a crush on a shapeshifting cousin of hers.
