(Slight spoilers for TFC, but if you don't know what to look for you won't even know!) Thomas has been in the maze a little while now, and both he and Newt have unexpressed feelings for each other. Things suddenly turn upside down and everyone is dying around them, it's almost like the maze isn't a good place for a relationship. Times are tough, people are breaking, the maze is breaking, the answer to escape is just a sacrifice away! Can they get out? If so, how? What's out there? Who will make it? (Gally x OC) Some notes to add: The central romance plot is between Eleanor and Gally but there is a subplot of Newtmas obviously. The story is inspired by the movies only, because the lore of the books goes quite deep and I don't think I will be able to write up to a standard that honors James Dashner's amazing legacy. Also, Eleanor is named after Eleanor Roosevelt which sticks to the idea that all main characters are named after famous scientists, inventors, and activists. Finally, this will be a three-part book for each movie and just to clarify, no smut!
