Mai Uchiha, sister of Madara Uchiha, months after her mysterious death, returns to life at the Hidden Leaf Village as the First Shinobi World War is due to break out. Her loyalty is tested as she returns to a village without Madara that has slighted the Uchiha but lies on the brink of war. As Mai readjusts to life, her best friend, Hirama Senju (sister to Hashirama and Tobirama) takes the weight of the village on her shoulders as they battle the Hidden Stone and Hidden Cloud, who have their own agendas and bitterness.
