Ten years later, word arises that ghosts keep appearing among a city belonging to the Lan Sect, as such, they send a group of Disciples to check it out. Finding a living ghost like creature, the Disciples instinctively attack, bringing Wei Ying into the picture. Lan Wangji was intrigued, and ordered the boy to be brought back with them. Wei Ying may go, but he was not going to make it easy on Wangji. As a guest of Lan Wangji, the Second Master Childe is in charge of Wei Ying. Slowly the two begin to get much closer to each other.
