Eight has lived semi-contentedly for years. All she has ever wanted is to find a way she can obtain happiness while fulfilling her duties as a Worker of the AntWing Colony. So far, that plan has been going swimmingly. Which is to say horrible, because as a dragon who's never even seen the sun (let alone a body of water), Eight can't swim. When her section of Workers reaches maturity they are tasked with a new job: one Eight does not agree with. They have to sire a new generation of Workers for the Colony. She and her best friend devise a plan to escape, but that also backfires - this time, more literally than figuratively... --- Even though this story is rated Mature, it is only for the occasional fight scenes which include enough blood and gore to showcase the reality of fighting. It was his sister, Lightningtail. She was shaking his shoulder. He also heard roaring in the background, which alarmed him. "Thunderclap! Hurry! Something's happening!" He sprang out of the nest as if it were on fire. One of the echoes sounded eerily familiar; Thunderclap knew the dragon that was growling and hissing in pain. "Do you know who it is?" he asked, running shoulder-to-shoulder with his sister. "No, but it sounds like..." Lightningtail said as they drew near the crowd. She flapped her wings in the cramped space and peered over the heads. "It is! It's Brisktail! Someone is trying to kill him!" . . . Rainwind hated lying. Probably because it stemmed deep into her dragonethood. Something she learned and saw as a repeating pattern was that dragons lied all the time. From gems like: "I'm fine," to: "Everything's going to be alright," Rainwind learned at a young age that most dragons were always pretending. Always. Sometimes about how good they were at hunting or one particular flight maneuver or even as far as how they were feeling... They were pretending to others, which often meant that they were lying to themselves. Nothing good became of a liar. Look at what happened to Swansong. . . . Quickclaws glided to a weak landing, his sore body crashing into the stone. A dark-scaled dragon landed next to him and after Quickclaws wiped the blood out of his eyes he looked up to see Speedscar. His mentor helped him up, Quickclaws making an effort to stand. Speedscar checked him for any major injuries and seemed relieved that he was okay. The dark-scaled dragon lifted his snout to look around the bay. The ice sheet that had been freezing the estuary was broken in places where bodies had fallen through. The ice was stained with spatters of blood. A few bodies littered the cliffs, red and gray alike. Quickclaws' heart skipped a beat when he noticed Lightningtail flying towards him over the battlefield. "We won't survive another attack," Speedscar murmured. Quickclaws looked up in surprise to meet his mentor's worried gaze but Speedscar watched the departing SkyWings with a frown. . . . Lightningtail looked up. The herring had parted around her, and she could clearly see the way out of the water. As she was swimming up slowly, something blocked the sunlight above her. Lightningtail almost choked on seawater. There was a dragon unlike any she had ever seen before her. . . . SwiftScales created and owned by OhDearCharlie and ThunderclanWarrior12. Brisktail spun around. His eyes scanned the leafless bushes behind him and he lifted his snout to scent the air. Dragonscent, he thought, catching the smell as the wind blew it to him. Even his keen eyes couldn't pick up the creature until it moved. A dragon emerged from the bushes. It was white with brown markings crisscrossing its scales. A row of long pearly quills ran from its head to its tail, and the dragon ducked its head so as to not catch its pronged horns on the bramble thorns. What's more, was that it barely stood a head taller than a scavenger. "H-hello," Brisktail murmured to the stranger. . . . SwiftScales created and owned by OhDearCharlie and ThunderclanWarrior12. The named dragon straightened as if to look more presentable, but all that did was emphasize his inferiority. His copy of the general's pose at attention was laughable, and Prion felt as if the crowd was enjoying the entertainment. He felt his family's eyes on him and shrank internally at the humiliation he was bringing them. But as the general continued, Prion's posture deflated. Every word punctuated his growing horror: "Your failure to act has resulted in the destruction of the palace and the deaths of many nobles. You have been charged with treason and are exiled accordingly by Her Majesty, Queen Chalcedony. If you wish to return to your place in the Kingdom, Her Majesty will grant you pardon... only if you return with the heart of The Blue Comet in your talons." . . . This book is a little outdated and will be getting a rewrite soon! ------------------ Fighting, dragons were always fighting in the Rainforest. Not physically, but verbally. The Rainforest Kingdom was being torn apart by its residents. The RainWing's and NightWing's. Queen Dandelion and King Palmtree are doing nothing to calm down their tribe, so, someone else has to. Lavender is an seven year old dragonet who belongs to both tribes. She's a hybrid, born from her RainWing mother and NightWing father. Her life is wonderful, at least in her family and small village close to the edge of the Rainforest. But, she's starting to notice the change within everyone, as if they know something is coming, something bad. Lavender wants to keep her kingdom safe, just like all dragons do, but she also wants to keep everyone connected and stop them from being torn apart. Will she be able to fix the ties that brought the RainWing's and NightWing's together? Or will they be split apart and she'll be stuck between torn sides. ------------------------ The Wings of Fire series is written by Tui T. Sutherland and this is just a fan-fiction based off of her series. No characters within this book are from the cannon books and it doesn't follow the cannon timeline. This book will be rewritten soon! ------------------------ Adventure, that was what Robin loved most. She loved the thrill of exploring someplace new and untouched. So when she's already seen every nook and cranny of Pyrrha, she grows restless. She wants to find something new to explore, something never heard of and unknown! But how can she do that if there is no longer anything new? That all changes one day when she and her friends are looking around in the SandWing Palace library. They find a scroll that tells a story about another continent similar to Pyrrha. A new place! Full of the unknown! It was perfect! All she had to do was find it, which will prove to be more challenging than the young SkyWing-NightWing dragonet thought it out to be. Will Robin and her friends be able to find the lost continent? Or will they become the ones lost in the history pages? ------------------------ The Wings of Fire series is written by Tui T. Sutherland and this is just a fan-fiction based off of her series. This book has been put on hold and will be rewritten soon! ------------------------ "You're just like her! You'll be nothing more than a shadow, HER shadow!" Every dragonet is born with a purpose, each one born with a future. They will have their paths and options set out before them, able to pick and chose which ones to take. Being told what to do and how to do it, but what if they want to do things for themselves and pick their own future? Their own paths to follow? Lydia always believed she had a future, it was always right there in front of her in the form of her mother. She was born with a purpose, a great one at that to take back what was rightfully stolen form her family. From her. She's been trained for this, trained for every possible future that could try and push its way into her life and distract her from what mattered most, for what she's been working for ever since she was able to walk on her own. She's ready for her first mission, her first chance to really prove herself to her parents that she's the dragonet they have raised, she's the dragonet they need to take back what's been lost. But....they didn't train her for all the challenges the real world truly holds outside of their hidden cave within the mountains. They didn't train her for what to do if dragons start to talk to her, follow her around and tell their stories. Dragons no one else can see. ------------------------ The Wings of Fire series is written by Tui T. Sutherland and this is just a fan-fiction based off of her series.
