❝The most rebellious people in society are the dreamers; for their minds are capable of creating incredibly beautiful and impossible concoctions. And those single thoughts alone have the ability to reconstruct anything.❞ Alice is nearing graduation and the stress is pushing her to breaking point. So, in a spontaneous decision to run away, she finds herself in the circus tent at a carnival two towns away. What better way to distract herself than speculating upon an entertaining show of optical illusions?

When kids are young and full of innocent wonder, they're asked the question that will haunt them far into their adult lives: what do you want to be when you're older? Kyleigh Frost's answer to this very question was that she wanted to be thin. Ever since she could remember, all she wanted to do with her life is to be the skinniest girl out of everyone she met on the streets. If she couldn't be the brightest kid in her school or win the next cycle of America's Next Top Model, she might as well be the thinnest one there. After all, to be fat is the biggest sin one could ever commit in today's society.

❝ She was soft-hued; muted in color. Like peaches 'n' cream. Or pastel macarons- tough exterior, shell-like; soft interior, cream-like. . . . Delicate and collapsible. ❞ - T. D. † English Literature student, Tristan Delacroix never thought of himself as a poet; merely an observer. A linguaphile who captured moments of deceptive insignificance on his typewriter. Street muralist, Faye Hughes never thought of herself as a bohemian landscapist; merely a girl who liked colors and mixing her own paints. A pastelist who smeared moments of juxtaposing emotions on Philly's walls. And on one fateful starry night, the word-loving observer met the bohemian landscapist... Copyright © 2014 Madhu

Upset, alone and desperate. The moment she wanders into the streets, she stumbles upon a 24 hour diner at one am. Because she needed someone, at least, to make her feel better.
