You're the son of Sportsmaster and Huntress, brother to Artemis and Jade. The three of you were trained to be weapons but you had it worse than your sisters. Because you were a boy you were expected to be the strongest out of your siblings and be able to take anything, if you did anything wrong or complained you were given very strict discipline. You were nine when you chose to run away from home, you didn't tell anyone where you were going, you just left. You ended up being found by Talia Al Ghul and the League of Shadows, they became your new family. Talia was like a mother to you and was the one that taught you that you didn't have to be stronger than your enemies, you just had to be smarter. She taught you how to use stealth to your advantage and you became Shade. You'd visit Gotham every now and then to check on your sisters. After you left, they thought you were dead and with mother in prison, Jade left and Artemis was all alone. You would meet Jade again in the League of Shadows where she would become Cheshire. When she saw you, you expected her to be happy but she was angry, thinking you had abandoned her and Artemis, blaming you for the downfall of the family. You decided that no matter what, Artemis must never know you're alive. While spending time in Gotham you became obsessed over Batman and started mimicking some of the moves you'd see him do during your training. Your fascination made you start developing your own version of a no-kill rule, you'd only kill the target, any unnecessary casualties was bad. You became infamous in the League for this mindset but Talia defended you, claiming that you're just efficient.
