The past story of the Ohaku name. (You will only know what this means if you read the first book, Ohaku) The mother and father of Xino Ohaku lose their daughter to The Forgotten and are on a mission to get her back. Holding one of the darkest names in history comes with a price to pay as love is no longer an option. The smallest display of affection causes a large amount of pain between the couple forcing them to distance themselves from each other.

TheRemnant Plot Summary After a failed suicide attempt, Shikauhno Lee (age 16) moves back to her birthplace, Ryojima, Japan. Soon upon her arrival, she learns of the mysterious deaths and disappearances plaguing the city known as Black Onda; also rumored to be supernatural causes. Subsequently, she ends up crossing paths with a man who is reported missing. Despite their identical appearance he denies being the missing person and pursues Shikauhno with one goal: to rip her heart out. Suddenly, a mystifying man brandishing a guitar as a weapon comes to Shikauhno's rescue by vanquishing the man and leaves her with a short yet cryptic message, "Let the dead bury their own." Four empires united by a powerful authority known as the "Magic Council", has reigned over the four corners of the earth for nearly a century. East, West, North, and South. These four empires are formally known as... "The Compass of Casters." The Compass controls the rotation of the earth and keeps peace and balance throughout the world. However, there's one empire that is feared greatly by both humans and casters, an empire that reigns over the eastern lands titled, "The Sacrificial Casters" or "Saki's". When a bloodline of this empire obtains the title of full-fledged Caster; normally called True-Caster, they've exceeded the boundaries of magic and can use it without the use of "Monarian" language. There is a catch however. In order to obtain the title of True-Caster, a person of equal blood must be slain. Thus, aiming to obtain that title in the Saki Empire has been forbidden by the magic council. Those who had tried to obtain it after the law was set in place, were mercilessly executed.
