Kiaya mène une vie paisible au paradis, le jardin, où seules les femmes s'épanouissent et profitent de la protection divine tandis que les hommes démoniaques vivent sur Terre. Mais alors qu'elle fête ses vingt ans, la jeune élue est appelée à participer à la Récolte, une cérémonie sacrée qui s'organise autour d'un accouplement hebdomadaire avec un mâle prédéfini. Les femmes ne peuvent prospérer sans la gent masculine, telle est la terrible leçon qu'elle doit apprendre dans son box de reproduction. Pourtant, les choses ne se passent pas comme prévu. Kiaya et le géniteur supposé la féconder se retrouvent soudain piégés dans de troublants événements qui n'ont rien du paradis, mais tout de l'enfer.
