Steve smiles lightly, dropping to his knees to meet her eyes, his hand gently touching her knee. "Then I remember blood." - ɪɴ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ Colette McGregor made being a female military personnel in the 1940s look easy. She stepped in front of every huge man that intimidated her, beat him physically and verbally, leaving him running off crying for his mama. The men who worked around her grew to hold a lot of respect for her that a woman wouldn't normally receive. Despite everything she pushed through to get where she is, Colette is still a bucket of sunshine. She wakes up at the crack of dawn each morning to fix her hair and smack her lips, preparing herself to face another day that will probably leave her in shambles. She stays perked up anyway. It's all the keeps her sane. When her team finally rounds up all the candidates for the super-soldier serum, Colette and her close friend Peggy are told to keep them in line and help choose which man is worthy of the serum. Peggy scouts carefully, reading each man's histories and watching them preform, but Colette zeroes in on one man. Steven Grant Rogers. She never let it show that she admired the Rogers boy, she'd go extra hard on him at training and would never let up with her insults. Her eyes blink open to see a shield with the American flag plastered fully over the front. A face she swears she's seen before, but it's blurry in her memories. "Who the hell are you?" She spits.

"What was he- I like...?" Bucky asks, eyes flicking to the floor. "You are such a good man, you are willing to sacrifice everything, you love with your whole heart, Buck." Crimson cups his cheek with her scarred hand and lifts his head to look at her. She refuses to use past tense, because she knows deep down, he's still the same Bucky she knew. ɪɴ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ Crimson Rain isn't sure who she is anymore. She knows she had a life before the bloodshed and the hurt, but she can't remember specifics. She's been trained to feel nothing for as long as she can remember. Expressing emotion meant shock therapy from the doctors, and that was something even Crimson couldn't endure. There is only one thing she can remember from her past, a face of a man, dark hair and eyes, dressed as if he was a soldier in old times. Crimson has learned not to ask about him, it leads to something a lot worse than shock therapy. One day the facility she's held at is raided and a man bursts in, a large shield in his hand, the flag of America painted across the front. Crimson could recognize that face anywhere. "Steve..." Her voice cracked as she analyzed his face. He looked wrecked. "Delaney, you're alive." He exhaled, scooping her up in his arms and carrying her from the burning building. Delaney... Delaney Sanders. That was her name. And the man from her dreams, James Buchanan Barnes. She remembers nothing but his name.
