When she turned thirteen she went to live on Crescent Island with her grandfather but she hid from the world wearing a mask and hiding. Then she met the Avatar and her granfather sent her with them. She thought that their fight was already over that her father had won and that she would never have a real place to call home and be safe, until she meets the Water Tribe boy.
