This is book 2 in the Mute series. First book has the same title as the series. Harry is doing much better now that he's never going back to the Dursleys, and that Dumbledore wouldn't be able to touch him anymore. Natasha and McGonagall had done a sweep through Hogwarts multiple times to make sure any spells Dumbledore had left were removed. Unfortunately, after Predawn started acting a little too guilty, Harry started to hear whispers in the walls, whispers that were talking about things that made Harry's heart pound in his throat, and his blood run cold from fear.

Agony. White hot agony that seemed to burn every inch of him, itching to get him to rip his own skin off, but he couldn't move, he couldn't even scream, but he could vaguely hear people laughing at his torment and quiet whimpers from beside him.
