GracefulInTheDarko
Have you ever expected something to work out, but then it doesn’t?
That was me before.
Have you ever expected something to fail, and it does?
Well, that’s me now.
It doesn’t really matter what I expect of something because the outcome will always be failure.
Rae thought that she could make her relationships last whenever she were to get one, but then she got cheated on by her ex-boyfriend, Max, with her friend Lauren. But then came along Erin, who would comfort her when she needed it. He seemed like he generally cared for her throughout their relationship, until the day that she found him with her remaining best friend, Amelia, in the corner of the hallway at school. After being cheated on by both guys and losing both friends, Rae decides only she can hop over the emotional ditch in the road. She starts to ignore most guys, comparing many to Erin when they seem to care about what she thinks and how she feels as if they do so just to hurt her. Afterwards, she instead decides to focus on her job at the library and work on her writing, something that won’t hurt her. On her days off work she continues to go to the library to work on her writing. On one of those days, comes a guy by the name of Blake Adams who decides to take the liberty to constantly annoy her and ask questions about her. When she finally gets him to leave her alone, she goes home to find her cell phone missing and instead swapped for another. She calls her phone and Blake picks up. He now has an excuse to see her again and have a conversation but after that encounter will she want to as well, just have him become another vague memory, or will she even turn him into just another hated comparison?
