Events are happening after season 2 (includes some scenes from 8 episode). I like an idea of dark Alina or morally grey. This story is about how I would like to see further events. How Alina will walk the Darkling's path, and understand all his words. How she will accept herself, and her love to him. P.S. If you read my story "The light behind the darkness", you may know how much I love Darklina. And after his disappointing death in the series, I have an inspiration to write new one about them.

Darklina Fanfic --------------------- The obisbaya had worked the way Lizaveta intended. King Nikolai is dead. Zoya is stuck in the fold. The Darkling has came back to life, taking his spot on the throne. The reign of Lanstovs are over. A year after Alina Starkov tears down the Shadow Fold, she is finally able to settle into her peaceful life. There is no more war with Ravka. The Darkling, once her enemy, is now a loyal, protective husband, and a father to their adoptive daughter, Amelia. But all things must end. The Sun Summoner learns that a time of peace can become a time of chaos and upheaval in the blink of an eye. As quickly as one war ends, another can emerge. Alina must protect her country as Queen while making sure that the Darkling doesn't revert to his old villainous self, or else all they have built will come crashing down. This is a sequel to The True Saint, but can be read separately. The world is based off of the Shadow & Bone Netflix series/ books by Leigh Bardugo. I thought I had seen the last of his nichevo'ya a long time ago when we were on opposing sides of the war. I shake my head. "No. No, what are you doing? Wait!" I send the Cut barrelling at the monster. It dissociates into nothing only for another one to take its place. Again, I send the Cut through the abomination, but it was only a diversion. Another one forms behind me, capturing my arms to prevent me from summoning. It holds me above the ground. I kick and scream, but it covers my mouth with its long, slender arm, the other holding me securely to its chest. My breath is labored as I use all of my strength to fight it. It is futile. The Darkling approaches me, stroking his fingers across my cheek as a way to comfort me. It is hard, however, to comfort someone if you are the cause of the distress. A Darklina story starting with an alternate ending to Ruin and Rising. After the events on the Shadow Fold, Alina hid Aleksander's body in an unmarked grave as he wished. A year later, her and Mal are living a simple life in Kerazmin as Alina grapples with the loss of her powers and having achieved her purpose before reaching adulthood. Meanwhile, the Grisha have started to create their own settlement in the area of the Fold, Shu Han and Fjerda remain threats at large, and the Darkling may not be as dead as expected. A story about the impossibility of maintaining happiness without struggle, the risk-reward ratio of desire, and the nature of equality. "To the ends of the earth is all Mal could love me as he was constrained by his humanity. But, I am the light and he the darkness. Not even the universe could constrain us." When Alina and her loyal followers escaped the royal chapel in Os Alta, they left the Darkling dying buried under the ruins. Now, he sits on the throne of Ravka, ruling as undisputed Tsar, while Alina and her friends run for their lives from him and his Grisha. Alina and her group bring the battle to him, on the Fold, but their ranks are dangerously thin, nearly everyone killed in battle. Those who weren't have been taken to Os Alta to be executed, until the Darkling offers Alina a choice: Watch her friends and those she cares about be murdered, as well as her pilgrims and everything she worked for be destroyed. Or go against what she believes in to save her friends, by marrying the Darkling and being held captive for eternity to be used as his pawn. Alina sees her opportunity to use her position in the palace to overthrow overthrow the Darkling, but obstacles soon stop her plan. Will she be able to carry out her plan and kill the Darkling once and for all? I will primarily follow the books, with bits and pieces of the Netflix show adaption (mostly: Ivan and Fedyor are both still alive and happily married because I ship Fivan, the Darkling/Aleksander is occasionally referred to as General Kirigan/Black General, Baghra and Botkin didn't die in R&R, etc.). It follows canon mostly but there will be some divergence, bits I've forgotten or changed to work something in. It picks up during the battle on the Fold in ruin and rising. All characters and world belong to Leigh Bardugo. Spoilers for all the books (Shadow and Bone to Rule of Wolves).
