But Gon asks that they keep it a secret. Out of embarrassment for him feeling like an idiot or for hanging out with Killua who knows? Killua agrees, they start a secret friendship learning things about each other. Gon hears the struggles of Killua getting bullied in his old school for being gay etc. The more nights they spend with each other the more Gon realizes he might actually have feelings for Killua despite being straight (pfft).
