Kesia is a dwarf, she's never belonged anywhere, not Erebor, not the Iron Hills. No, she's a wanderer, she goes where she wishes and doesn't stay in the same place for very long. She's always up for an adventure, and Gandalf comes to her with just the adventure to make this wild girl settle down. She helps with the journey to reclaim Erebor, and she meets the most adorable dwarf to fall in love with.

Mabyn was born with dwarfism into an already-harsh life. When she is hospitalized and drops into a coma, her mind imagines a better life for her, which to her is simply a life where she is respected, the dangers presented can be fought, and evil is easier to tell apart from the things which she loves. Her imagination transports her to a world of men, elves, dwarves and hobbits, where she unwittingly joins a company of dwarves on their quest to reclaim their homeland, and she finds people with whom she feels at home. *A lot of the dialogue of Tolkien's original characters is kept, as I don't intend to change the story, merely present a different version of it. Raign also known as Ray is a half-breed half-Shifter and half dwarf and the young half-sister of Dwalin and Balin. Though the only thing Dwarvish about her is her height. She gets called half-breed by disgusted Dwarves and hides her horrid and dark past. She joins the Company hoping to prove she is worth something. She learns on her journey what it is to be wanted and that things will change. As she gets closer to the Company she realizes one may be more than just a friend. Will everything work out? Will she find love? Will they succeed?

Aaron, being a Skin-changer, made life hard. Her own parents didn't want her and left her at the Elves' doorstep. Aragorn, son of Arathorn, found her and took her in. Now twenty-seven years later, Aaron is still running around with Aragorn; now her half-brother. They are sent to protect a Hobbit, who has something the enemy wants.
