Christmas is said to be the most wonderful time of year. For some, it might be true, but for others, it's a whole different story. From spending the holidays with their love ones to having a lonely night at the club, each person celebrates Christmas in their own special way. "Christmas is more than just a day of stuffing your face and getting those over-expensive gifts, it's about realizing something you never thought of for the past year." Violet Maverick had always harbored a crush for her best friend Finn Orland. But she knew better to keep it a secret when it came to Finn simply because they always worked so much better as friends. By now she’s forced herself to believe that Finn would never view the girl he used to see in diapers as girlfriend material. That is, until Finn decides he has a secret of his own that he’s dying to spill on the busiest night of the year for Violet: Christmas Eve. Working as one of Santa’s elves in the city’s largest mall during the holidays meant that Violet didn’t have time to go somewhere to “talk” like Finn wanted. Little does she know, Finn’s got a few tricks up his sleeves to make her ditch her post at the artificially snow covered house with Santa’s other helpers. Will Violet end up tangled beneath the Christmas lights with Finn by the end of the night? Or will she end up stuck beneath children’s grabby hands and broken tree ornaments before she gives Finn the chance to spill his secret?

So what do you do when a deliciously handsome guy breaks into your apartment on Christmas Eve wearing a Santa hat? Some might call the police or maybe scream. Or you could do what Evangeline does, which include the following: 1, point a water gun at him. 2, agree about the ugliness of small, pink tree with kitten ornaments from your stepfather's ex-wife. 3, go to a playground and bury said ugly tree. 4, begin to like the tree burying, Santa hat wearing intruder. So, if you ever find yourself in Evangeline's spot, just call the police.

Twenty-four days. That's how long it took me to fall in love. Pretty impressive, since for the first twenty-three days all I had to fall in love with were little presents slipped into my locker. [#81 teen fiction / #1 holidays] NOTE - I wrote this book at 14 so the characters are 15-16 year olds. This is your warning so you don't have to be surprised/disappointed when their ages are mentioned! Thanks!
