Zwischen Sprachbarrieren, peinlichen Missverständnissen und einem äußerst strengen Mentor, der ihm das Leben nicht gerade leicht macht, fühlt sich Lev schnell überfordert. Doch je mehr Zeit er mit Yaku verbringt, desto deutlicher wird ihm: Es ist nicht nur der Volleyball, der ihn an diesen unnahbaren, aber faszinierenden Jungen bindet. Eine YakuLev ff die in einem AU spielt, in dem Lev erst mit 15 aus Russland nach Japan zieht. In dieser Story beherrscht Lev Japanisch noch nicht, er lernt es noch. Die Geschichte spielt in ihrer Oberschulzeit.

In der Geschichte geht es um Nishinoya, der mit Asahi seit einem Jahr zusammen ist. Doch seit Asahi vor zwei Monaten ans College in Frankreich gegangen ist, hat sich vieles verändert. Sie beide telefonieren sehr oft doch nicht neuer fühlt sich auch oft sehr einsam und Tanaka sein bester Freund, lässt ihn sich nicht mehr einsam fühlen. Doch wie macht er das? Und wird die Beziehung mit Asahi anbehalten oder kommt Nishinoya mit Tanaka zusammen?

Wenn man von einer Person über eine bestimmte Distanz getrennt ist, ist man schließlich noch immer irgendwie mit dieser Person verbunden, über das Herz, die Seele oder über Gedanken, darüber lässt sich streiten. Aber manchmal ist eine Distanz auch spürbar, nämlich dann, wenn man realisiert, wie sehr man jemanden eigentlich liebt, wie nahezu abhängig man von der bloßen Existenz dieser Person ist. Ich konnte diese Distanz sowohl physisch als auch psychisch spüren. Es machte mich zu der Person, die ich heute bin. Distanz ist nicht nur ein Wort. Es ist ein Gefühl, nahe zu eine Folter. Diese Folter habe ich im Unterbewusstsein durchgemacht, zu spüren, dass unsere Herzen nicht nebeneinander schlugen. Dass unsere Herzen, kilometerweit entfernt, langsam zerbrachen, bis die Distanz sich legte, zu Nähe, einer anderen Art Distanz, wurde und uns miteinander verband, sodass unsere Herzen sich gegenseitig fanden, zusammentaten und ein ganzes wurden. Die Distanz machte uns zu einer Einheit, zu einem gleichmäßig schlagenden Herzen. Nichts kann uns mehr trennen, keine Distanz wird sich je wieder zwischen uns drängen können. Solange wir lebten, lebten auch unsere Seelen, die sich nicht mehr von einander trennen konnten, denn durch Distanz haben sie sich geschlossen und gebündelt.
