This is the same magical Boiling Isles you know, but... Everybody has a red glowing string around their ring finger. Once a person and their soulmate share their first kiss, a red string connects you and the other person together. This red string means they are soulmates and are meant for eachother. If you do not have a red ring around your finger that means your soulmate has either cut the string or dies. The worst possible case of not having a ring is that you didn't match with anybody at all, meaning that you belonged with nobody. Amity Blight never had a ring around her finger. both her siblings Edric and Emira had rings. But not her. People would whisper about how the Blights have a daughter without a ring. Amity lived 17 year's of her life thinking she belonged with nobody. Until one strange morning the young Blight woke up to a red ring around her finger. Luz lived in the human world with no friends, and no soulmate. But what happens when she finds a portal to a new world and her ring finally appears. She started getting mentored in magic by Eda. Who had sighed her up for her up for her first day at Hexside. Who know's? Maybe her soulmate will be going to Hexside with her.

No childhood, no family, no friends. After a rather rough childhood of being a foster child and being moved around the whole country, Luz reaches a new family, a new city, everything looks like she can start fresh. But neither her new mom Eda, nor the little town in the midwest seems to be just ordinary and as her past mistakes slowly grasp at her, as the world around begins to let down its masquerade, she can't longer outrun her past.

A Lumity au where Luz has been in the isles for a couple months. She listened to more of Eda's teachings, opting to be careful about what she did. When she took a short walk into the woods, everything changed. Her life completely changed direction, and she's forced to figure it out one paw at a time. A warning, this fanfic doesn't follow the canon. Luz hasn't made any connections apart from Eda and King. Personalities of characters might be tweaked. NO SMUT. Come on guys they are 14. When Luz manages to succeed in saving Eda from the Emperor, her life goes back to normal for a little while. With Amity being absent from all the action, what with her broken foot being in the way, Luz decides to focus her attention and tend to her friend.
