There was this heavy weight of tension falling on the human's shoulders. She couldn't stand to see the skeleton so tensed and angry. The way his white eyes stared into her own made her feel vulnerable, it was like he could see right through her. "You said you cared about me." Every word came out through clenched teeth. "You said I was special." The more he spoke, the more he bit down on his teeth. "You told me you love me, (Y/n). You..." The monster's eyes became hollow within a blink of his eye sockets. "You told me I was special... Am I just not good enough?" You instantly shot up, fearful of the tears that streamed down his face. The way his voice cracked, so desperate for acceptance and love, it scared you. You didn't want to hurt him, he just wasn't understanding what he was asking of you. You took his face and delicately cupped it. "Of course you're special, just give me some time, okay?" Trying to figure out how to break off your engagement is already hard enough. . . ". . . ." You work night shifts at a gas station. There's this skeleton you always see come in to buy the same thing he does every night. Cigarettes and ketchup packets. At first, you don't expect much out of him except his friendship. Seeing as you are already engaged you had never thought of ever hooking up with the monster. One drunken night will have you pour your heart out and find way too much comfort in the skeleton. Eventually you're going to find yourself between a clingy skeleton and your toxic family.
