I was in a dark place with no one to hear my cries, I screamed but the sound just echoed into a far distance The pain was unbearable from almost every part of my body especially around my thighs and my hands, my head also hurt I cried into the darkness but no one was there, I prayed and prayed till I found myself slowly slipping out of that world till I was met with blinding light Opening my eyes I looked around to the blank walls made of plain cement blocks, no paint or anything and so was the ground it looked like an uncompleted building but what bothered me the most was what I was in Was it the pain or the wetness I was feeling, i mustered up the courage and raised my pounding head looking up at my wide-spread legs and the pool of blood I was laying in I couldn't cry nor scream just fall back into the dark world I was recently in with one thought in mind What every woman kept and treasured the most was taken away from me.

. . . . . The man took her to a small office downstairs. It seemed he was the owner of the hotel, given how well he knew his way around. She sobbed quietly, her sister's betrayal hurting more than Halima's beating. Today, she had to find out that her sister had no heart. "Take this," the mysterious man passed her an ice pack. "Use it on the swelling." She took it from him. "Thanks." The man studied her. She looked so young. What was a young lady like her doing in a hotel while her mates were in school? The man wondered. Women of today have no shame at all. "What were you thinking?" he asked. "Excuse me?" she asked, cocking a brow. "What were you thinking when you followed that man to the hotel? Don't you have any shame?" "Stop it. Stop talking as if you know the whole truth. You don't even know half of the story, but you're already judging," she said. He cackled. "Oh, really? What I witnessed is enough for me. You sell your body for money. It's as simple as that." "Shut up!" "The truth hurts, right? Next time, you should think before repeating the same mistake." "Please shut up!! Please," she broke into tears. It hurts a lot. Now she's the prostitute. People will laugh at her if they come to watch the videos some people took. "Okay," he raised his hands up in surrender. "I want to go home," she stood up. "I can send my driver to drop you if you want." "No, thank you. Wouldn't want part two to repeat itself," she said sarcastically. "Thanks for the ice, anyway." A story about two sisters fighting for their rights. A secret they've sworn to keep from the world. One of these sisters has to take the blame for the other sister's wrongdoing, and there's no way this innocent sister can speak the truth. No one would believe her, except one man.

You can't predict the future" "Let's not beat around the bush and deceive ourselves but I don't see you in my future" I laughed incredulously, tears were threatening to escape now, making my eyes sting but I was never a weakling and I won't start being one over his hurtful words. Not now, not ever. "You better start seeing me in it because there's no where I'm going. We'll live together, share a room, share a bathroom, inhale in each other's scents, share our stories, you'll be someone's Father and I, Amirah Bawa will be their mother. I'll be in every sentence, in every line of your life's story one way or the other" "You're dreaming" He spat "hopelessly" he added with a mock smile. "No" I shook my head again "You're the one who's dreaming because look around you, we just finished taking the pictures that will inform the world of our impending nuptials" "Impending doom more like" He cut through my words with a sarcastic remark. "I learn to embrace what life throws at me" I taunted. His eyes clasped tightly with mine, he was so mad that his fury reflected in his gaze. They were so dark I thought I was going to pee on my self. "You can't embrace the misery I'll bring with me" With each step Kamal took I felt myself pressing, sinking further into the door. 0o0
