Il y a 6000 ans, Dieu créa le monde. Vous connaissez l'histoire: Ève, Adam, la pomme, le serpent... Peut-être connaissez-vous aussi l'histoire, plus confidentielle, de l'ange chargé de garder le Jardin, Aziraphale, et du démon venu effectuer quelques tentations, Crowley... Restés sur terre parmi les humains, sensés les influencer tout au long de l'Histoire et jusqu'à la fin du monde, ils finirent par les aimer et par s'aimer eux-mêmes, défiant à la fois l'Enfer et le Paradis...
