The hospital doors burst open as a stretcher rushed down the corridor. White lights. Rushed footsteps. Nurses shouting instructions. Phuwin lay motionless while his mother ran beside the bed, her cries echoing through the sterile halls begging, praying, breaking. Just minutes earlier, Pond had walked out of that house. Now he stood frozen, watching the boy who never asked for help slip beyond his reach. Phuwin has always carried grief in silence. After his sister's death shattered their world, he buried himself in responsibilities and expectations too heavy for one heart. No one saw how close he was to collapsing. Not even Pond. What begins in a hospital corridor becomes a story of guilt, second chances, and a love that refuses to give up. Because sometimes, the scariest moment isn't realizing you love someone... It's realizing you might lose them before they know it.

He never said he was mine. He just never left. Phuwin Tangsakyuen learned early that staying was a choice. People came and went-friends, routines, places-everything temporary if you waited long enough. Staying meant intention. Staying meant attention. Staying meant you had already decided the outcome. That was why he didn't stay for most people. He left rooms when conversations dulled. He left parties before anyone noticed. He left before attachments formed. Control lived in distance. Then there was Pond Naravit. Pond didn't arrive like a disruption. He didn't demand space or attention. He simply existed-open, unguarded, unaware of the way eyes followed him. He spoke easily. Trusted easily. Let people linger where they shouldn't. Phuwin noticed him the way one notices a weak point in a structure-quietly, instinctively, knowing it would matter later. He told himself it was nothing at first. A shared hallway. A shared class. A shared room. But then he stayed. He stayed when he could have left. Stayed when silence would have been easier. Stayed when distance would have kept him safe. Phuwin didn't touch. Didn't confess. Didn't claim. He just stayed. And somewhere between watching and waiting, between restraint and want, staying stopped being a choice- and became a vow.
