"Cay, will you look at me?" I turned around and lifted my eyes to look into his. His arms were braced on the counter and he was looking at me sideways. Finding herself saddened by the loss of the one and only constant in her life since she was eight years old, she tries to be positive about pursuing a new adventure. That is until an unexpected change in events lands her in Professor Henry Davenport's lecture hall. As her past begins to come back to haunt her, Ali starts to wonder if she's made a terrible mistake stepping out of the safety of her bubble. Will she make it through the semester in one piece or will the handsome Professor threaten to tear apart the carefully constructed life she's built for herself and rip open old wounds she's buried deeply beneath years of toe tape and bandages?
