This story is to simply help those who don't understand the werewolf stories and would enjoy reading some. This is like a beginners guide to the were wolf genre. All the information in this book is mainly what I have learned through out my 2 years of reading this genre. Following Cassiel's rescue of the captured bats and a second victory over Goth, Shade's mother, Ariel, becomes the new leader of the Silverwing colony after Frieda's passing from old age. Stranded in southern Mexico, unable to return to Canada, the Silverwing colony and the owls establish a new home in the jungle. Shade and Marina become mates and have a son, Griffin, who is half-Silverwing and half-Brightwing. Shade's adopted brother, Chinook, mates with Selena Silverwing, and together they have Griffin's cousin, Luna. Meanwhile, Goth and his mate, Phoenix, give birth to their own son, Orpheus. Although Orpheus is a Vampyrum Spectral bat and a prince in Goth's royal lineage, he refuses to eat smaller bats. As tensions rise, the Silverwing colony and the owls must find a way back to Canada, while facing the looming threat of Goth's revenge and the possible resurrection of Camazotz, who seeks to destroy the sun.
