In the midst of a storm conjured by a witch's wind Anne Neville's story is only just beginning. Pitied by the king she once called friend, Anne is taken into the care of the kings brother; but he is not her safety, he is her prison. Anne's inheritance hangs in the balance pushed towards the holy life Anne makes her escape, falling into the arms of the kind Duke of Gloucester, a childhood friend, who would one day become the villainous Richard III. In a court surrounded by murder and deceit Anne has to find her way. With a watchful eye on the queen she named witch and the king she feared to call friend, and only her own ambitions pushing her forward; Anne fails to notice the evil rising beside her, for her saviour is just as deadly as her capturer.

Amy Dudley's untimely death in 1560 implicates Queen Elizabeth the 1st, in murder. Katherine vows vengeance for her forsaken mistress. When young Katherine discovers Amy dead at the bottom of a stone staircase she knows she has been murdered. The year is 1560 and she vows to take revenge on Amy's errant husband, Robert Dudley. This tears apart Katherine from her betrothed, Henry as they take opposite sides. Katherine is just a servant and Robert is the favourite of Queen Elizabeth 1st and it seems destined to become king of England, now his wife Amy is dead. The Tudor Dynasty depends on Elizabeth marrying and all know, there is none she prefers over Dudley. Katherine, undeterred,will not rest until she has destroys his ambitious dreams and proves his guilt. But to do so she has to make her way in the hard Tudor world, to the Royal court and to justice.
