One little One-Shot in the Akame Ga Kill anime. I'm a fan of this anime and i'm a fan of God Of War. So i decided to write a story using a bit of the gameplay trailer of the game. Someone I cared about has only just passed. In his will, did he leave me something very dear to him. It was a farm in which he cared for over his many years of living.... but, this damn geezer failed to mention something.. THIS TOWN IS FAR FROM NORMAL! I share a house on the farm with his oddly chipper granddaughter, Claire. What's odd, is the fact that it doesn't take too long until strange things begin to stir. ...Do I really have to give this stupid introduction? Yes? I do...? Fine... Whatever. My name is Nova Lise, and I just moved to the Alola region. I'm nineteen, and because my mother can hardly stay in one place, we move from region to region a lot. I try not to get too attached to anything or anyone, because I never know when my mother will up and decide to move again. My father's not in the picture, so don't even think about asking about him. Most trial-goers in Alola are eleven years old when they start their island challenge. I'm nineteen years old and just now starting mine, since I only recently moved here. ...okay, so maybe I'm getting a bit of a late start. So what? I know this is a new thing for me, starting an island challenge in a completely unfamiliar region, but my cousin Kukui deciding that I need a babysitter to make sure I don't get lost and give me a crash course on being a Pokemon Trainer was the absolute worst idea he's ever had. Yeah, my new babysitter's name is Altair Knight, and that jerk is so infuriatingly perfect at everything that it drives me insane. I look like some sort of fumbling idiot compared to Mr. Perfect, because I can't even properly work a microwave! Anyways, this is the story where I'm supposed to go on some journey with this infuriating guy Altair who loves to push my buttons and mess with me, a quiet and mysterious girl named Lillie, and some spastic eleven year old boy named Hau who's obsessed with malasada, and I'm supposed to come back from it all a different person. Hah. Yeah right. I'm not a perfect person, I'm flawed. It's horrible to don a mask. Most wear some kind of mask in their life--and for the most part, they're never of the best quality. All they cause is useless self-destruction and pain, but the good thing about them is that they can hide some ugly part of you that you don't want to show to the world. They're always a step down from what you think they'd be, always a notch lower than expectations, and always a lie to hide from the reality around us. ...of course, there are those that can see through those masks too, and it's supposed that Arceus created these humans to keep the world's sanity. That's all Avis wishes for, because it's nearly impossible to find any semblance of peace in this midst of war and chaos. To him, that's staying alone; staying out of others' business, and for the first seventeen years of his life, he's done that pretty well. § Avis can only hide in the shadow of his twin brother's strength, stranded in a country ravaged by war and destruction--and he tries to live his life in the darkness peacefully. He doesn't need to be noticed by everyone. The illusion of a functional, ideal life, however, is shattered when his family's balance is destroyed, and he thus dons his first mask. § For all his life, Avis had been taught that disaster was bad.
