Willing to risk her life, a seasoned soldier recruits a vengeful goddess to fight a war of the future. *** When UN Army Captain Akira Dunn is sent to investigate an outlandish legend, she doesn't question her orders. Realistically, she knows it's impossible that a goddess lives among them; even less likely is that said immortal is dead set on destroying the world's greatest enemy, Verus Rex. So when myth becomes reality, and she finds herself face to face with the goddess Danya, Akira begins to feel something she had forgotten over the last fourteen years of war: hope. Unfortunately, Concordia is far from an easy opponent, and the country in the sky seemingly takes pride in destroying the world beneath them. Danya's defiant personality, coupled with her sporadic outbursts of anger, doesn't help either, and it's Akira's job to keep the temperamental goddess in line. But Akira refuses to let that stop her. For the sake of their future, and for those that no longer have one, Akira intends to do whatever it takes to end the war once and for all. *** WARNING: This story contains depictions of suicide and violence that may not be suitable for some readers. Part fantasy novel, part memoir, part therapy. This somewhat odd and experimental novel follows Sean Browning and his imaginary dodo on fantastical adventures through his mind as he battles his real-life depression by battling robots, messing with sea creatures, hiding from giants, and tangling with many more funny, sad and poetic beasts and beings. Most of which represent various things in his life or parts of himself. *The length of each chapter may be a bit long for Wattpad, but each one is it's own adventure (or story or episode if you will). More chapters will be added over time. IMPORTANT NOTE: Chapter two was written a few years before I started my other title on Wattpad "I Don't Seem So Bright..." I bring this up because chapter two is ABOUT the other story. In fact it is what ushered in my desire to keep writing about that world. It gives a history to the other book.

"This book speaks to anyone with a neurodivergent brain, that may feel like an alien here on earth. I swear Browning made me laugh and cry and question reality...sometimes all in the same sentence." -JD Todd, author The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it. Potto is dim-witted, extremely forgetful and incredibly naïve. He wasn't always this way. Aye-Aye is devilishly shrewd and has boozed his way into a comfortable existence of incompetence and sleaze. How they ended up being two of the most wanted aliens in the galaxy is anyone's guess. Chased down by every oddball bounty hunter in the known universe, and befriended by a libidinous assassin, a fire-breathing reptilian, and a telepathic tree, their misadventures take them past Earth (the mall planet), to a floating sex circus, a planet of killer stuffed animals, an underground spaceship impound lot, and to a planet of reasonably priced bungalows. All while flying around in a ship powered by the brain waves of a psycho killer. A great prophecy proclaims that only "one of light, and one of dark" can save the universe from the dictatorship of The Node. That can't be Potto and Aye...Potto doesn't know what the word prophecy means, and neither know how to spell it. Part sci-fi epic, part absurd dark comedy, I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room is a comment on human behavior, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. But way more fun than that sounds. So, do up your space seatbelts...it's going to be a bumpy ride. Despite the lack of potholes in space. (Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed! Enjoy!
