TREADING WATER is a novella prequel to SWIMMING TO TOKYO, published by Spencer Hill Contemporary and available in e-book everywhere. Zosia Easton's mom died two-and-a-half years ago. Just enough time for Zo to fool herself into thinking she's moved on -- even if she's still living at home and "languishing" (her dad's word, not Zo's) at community college. She's promised her dad she'll apply to college and her best friend is already decorating their dorm room at NYU. Except NYU doesn't "feel" right to Zo. Neither do the schools on the shiny brochures appearing in the mailbox every day, compliments of dear old dad. But Zo's not used to trusting her feelings. Hell, she's not used to feeling at all. The problem is, if she doesn't start, she's going to end up deciding her future based on the pain of her past.
