There was once many of us, we were mighty and fierce. Now there are very, very few left. We are Skin Changers. This tale begins when she was living peacefully with her family many years before that meddling wizard ask for her help protecting 13 ungrateful dwarves and one rather peculiar hobbit.

She never asked to be a seer. She never asked to carry visions that tear pieces of her away each time she looks into the dark. But when Gandalf brings Maureen to Thorin Oakenshield, she finds herself bound to thirteen dwarves and one stubborn King who swears she is under his protection. From the gold-lit halls of Erebor to the shadowed forests of Mirkwood, Maureen walks a road filled with visions of blood, fire, and loss. Every glimpse into the future shows her the same unbearable truth: Thorin's death. Yet the closer she draws to him, the harder it becomes to let go. Thorin has weathered exile, fire, and battle-but nothing shakes him like the woman fate has placed in his path. She is fire and defiance, tenderness and steel, and though she insists her gift will one day destroy her, he refuses to surrender her to prophecy. Not to Azog, not to kings who would bargain for her, not even to the madness of his own gold-sickness. As kingdoms clash, armies gather, and dragon-fire burns, a bond forged between King and Seer may be the only thing strong enough to defy fate itself. But can love endure when prophecy demands sacrifice? A tale of destiny, devotion, and the fierce love that can turn the tide of war-Maureen and Thorin's story will break your heart and heal it, leaving you breathless until the last page.

There were few people that Thorin Oakenshield trusted. He trusted his kin, but that was it. After losing the Lonely Mountain, the dwarves of Erebor were looked down upon by many races of Middle Earth and elves had a special place of distrust in Thorin's mind. Except... Oreliell and her sister are wanderers, traveling across the vastness of Middle Earth, surviving in the wilds and helping those that needed it. Then, one day, they stumble upon a company of thirteen dwarves, a wizard, and a halfling. Author's Note: Please do not steal my work! I do not own the Hobbit or the characters, but I do own my OCs and the parts of the plot that are not part of the movies. I have worked very hard on this fic. Please be respectful and do not steal.

Nerwen is no ordinary daughter of the Eldar. Touched by the blood of the ancient ones and gifted with elemental magic long forgotten, she is summoned to the Greenwood on the eve of war. Sent by Galadriel, bound by purpose, and haunted by a past of loss and silence, Nerwen carries a power the Enemy has already begun to hunt. There she meets Thranduil-king of starlight and ice, carved by grief, crowned in thorns of pride. What begins as wary distance deepens into something neither can name. As the darkness spreads from Dol Guldur and the dwarves of Erebor awaken a fire beneath the mountain, fate draws them closer, even as old wounds threaten to tear them apart. From the shadowed halls of Mirkwood to the burning skies over Dale, Echoes in the Greenwood weaves a tale of war, sacrifice, and slow-burning love. It is the story of a warrior who carries too much, a king who dares to hope again, and a bond powerful enough to bend even the will of the Valar. And when all light seems lost... the Greenwood sings her name. All of the original characters from Tolkien are not mine. All of the others are of my own creative power.

My following words of yore and spite may shock you to the very core. They acknowledge a fact known to few, and even less, known to heart. But please, by the whim of mind and patience of soul, I beseech you to listen all the clear. Tolkien's tale of Middle Earth has fallen from its original translation. His story of Thorin Oakenshield's company once bore truth, but fate was reconstructed in light of a prophecy: The girl born of flame, fostered by the dwarves, royal in her name, and her child's birth. She is the one and only protector of Middle Earth, guardian over Mordor, savior of our royal dwarf. Her knowledge will be countered by family's unknown survival, though fate will turn it right as in sacrifice of her royal line. It isn't just a story, but the Valar's greatest mistake; let the heavens toll loud to save Durin's sons After the war of the ring and the destruction of Sauron, the Valar decided to repeat the past, starting at the union of the company within a small hobbit hole in the typically quiet Shire. Why, you may ask, did they decide to do this? Originally, the Valar had ignored the prophecy stated above (as they had done in the past), allowing the Durin line to be exterminated by the Pale Orc, Azog. However, the reign of Dain and his heirs as they took Erebor's throne turned out to be heartless and cruel, unlike the intended fate of Erebor foretold. Therefore, the Valar decided to turn back the clock, 60 years, giving Gandalf the idea to invite the "girl of fire" to the meeting in Hobbiton. Indeed, this did bring about the intended fate of the Lonely Mountain as well as infinite happiness to the company of heroic dwarves. This is her story, as she sacrificed her line in saving Durin. I do not own The Hobbit or LOTR. The Hobbit is what I based this story off of. A Thorin Oakenshield x OC you might really enjoy like I do, and I wrote the story! I decided this description needed a rewrite: Fiery, stubborn, prideful, daring. I am all of those names, always have been. I never back down from a challenge, never turn away from my choice. I am determined to find my home. And, one day, I know I will. I just never thought a handsome, stubborn, irritating, stoic, and annoying dwarf king would step in my way and tip me off that path I was determined to stay on. I never thought he would take my hand, and guide me down a much better path than I ever imagined. Wounded in the Battle of the Five Armies, Thorin Oakenshield and his two nephews are brought to Rivendell. There, the three dwarves begin the long, arduous, and taxing road to recuperation and all Thorin wants it to be well enough to return to Erebor and his rightful place on that throne. Amara makes him want to punch something, but at the same time, with each day, his desire for her outweighs his aggravation with her. Amara of Rivendell has devoted her life to healing, but she never expected to meet someone like Thorin. The proud, stubborn dwarf challenges her to no end, and in return, she works him until he swears revenge. But along the way, she realizes there is more to the King Under the Mountain than meets the eye, and as they come to know one another, she becomes more determined to break down his walls and bring some happiness into his life. But, while Azog the Defiler is gone, another has taken his place and like his predecessor, has vowed to end the line of Durin for once and for all, and just might be successful in shattering the fragile peace Thorin and Amara find in each other's arms.
