After the battle of Genosis she was knighted by the jedi council During a mission on Naboo Ashoka Tano was badly injured resulting in her healing at the Jedi temple for a long period of time. As the 501'st was a Jedi short, the council sends Asteria to fill in for commander Tano in the mean time.
