Part 2/2 of this story! Hopefully it doesn't suck!!

This is 1/2 part of what I'm working on. It's kind of a haters to lovers type vibe, so there will be more of a slow burn angsty tension rather than straight up smut :) While I was writing the 50th chapter. I found a better way to describe this version of Y/N and Emily Prentiss: A self destructive drug addict with a traumatic past meets a somewhat patient federal agent... So, there will be a lot of substance usage in this story.. And it'll probably be somewhat toxic because I'm definitely not promoting substance abuse. Y/N is a total mess. After surviving an abusive relationship with the son of a mob boss who made her do some horrible things, she's been stuck in a downward spiral of anger, guilt, and self-destruction. Losing her dad a few days after her escape only made herangrier. She's selfish and a coward, always trying to protect herself. [Emily Prentiss x OC] What happens when past comes knocking at your front door? Emily Prentiss has just accepted her promotion to unit chief. To treat herself, it was a bar she had decided to try her luck at. At said bar another woman, Jean Miller, who's gotten lucky with her new job, as well, forced herself to celebrate. Teasing, tequila and tasty snacks earned dizzy minds to end up in bed together. A one night stand turned into her boss. The women try to mingle through their lives, whilst everything seems to calm down around them. Life was looking darn good. Though as so often, demons from both of their past interrupt. Perhaps it was the same ghost. What happened to Jean's family? What is it Emily tries to hide from her team, even after the man she ran from all these years ago was gone. You and Emily met at the BAU when she transferred back from Interpol after Hotch had hired you a few months before. You fit right into the team when you joined, and naturally developed a great friendship with Emily when she returned too. But that friendship quickly developed into a little something more, and although you'd agreed to keep it secret from the rest of the team, it was getting harder to hide how much you cared for each other, especially when one particular case puts you right at the forefront of the team's investigation. This fanfic will revolve around y/n having mental health issues, and whilst the relationship with Emily will play a large part in the storyline, I want to keep it as realistic as possible so y/n's mental health problems will continue throughout. For the purposes of this story, Emily's return from Interpol is the only reason why she's left the BAU, the Ian Doyle storyline has not happened yet. You've worked as a member of the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Team for 4 years now - a career you dreamt of growing up. But 6 months ago, the love of your life was ripped from you suddenly in the worst case of your career. background info: the bau, and the team, had always been understanding of your mental health, letting you take days or weeks off when you weren't feeling too great. this time things got really bad and you tried to end your life. you had been off work for a month and hadn't seen anyone since. the team come by to check if you're ok and are satisfied with you telling them through the door. but that isn't enough for emily anymore. trigger warning: this will include talk of mental illness, self harm (nothing too graphic), mention of a suicide attempt (in the past) and other themes related to this. please do not read if you think this will trigger you, keep yourself safe<3
