As clans started to disappear into the past more abilities from clans meshed and now the powers are called quirks, they can be anything from fire powers to powers able to manipulate people with ease. Even though quirks have become the standard for children, chakra is still used but mostly banned. The age of shinobi's is over and now there are hero's hired by the government to stop rampant villains from committing any sort of crime.
