As her disease worsens, it seems to be that she's already lost this race.

Alyssa Daniels is a cross country runner who has her mind set on being one of the first female state champions in South Carolina. She was one second away from her dream coming true, when a guy passes her in less than a second. Alyssa is more than furious with him, which clouds up her judgement on how amazing of a person he actually is. Not only does Alyssa run like the wind in a race, but she runs like the wind away from her problems.

(a work of fiction) I am a runner myself and I never was able to find any good works involving running, and I felt that it was largely misrepresented, so I decided to share my thoughts and build upon that. each part of the story is a separate thought/memory. So here you have, an entrance into the minds of long distance runners who run cross country and/or track & field.
