Nothing about Evelyn Sherman's life was going to plan. Relationships had failed her. She was raising her sassy 14-year-old daughter Elizabeth on her own while her own mother was in a battle for her life. Just when she thought she was getting a grasp on life, an unlikely confession sent her into a whirlwind once again. She found herself on the way to Glenwood Springs, Colorado in search of a sister she didn't know existed. As the oldest of five siblings, Damon Mason always felt the weight of the world on his back. He was a quiet observer and often time labeled grumpy and stubborn. Both of those adjectives may have been true, but they were for good reason. He wasn't the type of man that was looking for a relationship, instead, he was content with no strings attached casual hookups. He ended up with the shock of his life when his latest hook-up turned back up with way more strings attached than intended.

The second I saw him I just knew my world was going to be turned upside-down. There was no way I was making it out of this bar without him by my side. But, he surprised me by not being a like every other guy I have ever met. His sky blue eyes pulled me in, that lip ring he's always messing with made my insides squeeze. When I found out what his career was I was crushed. Where does this leave me? I've seen my fair share of everything being an SEAL, the best sniper in at least the US. Now I'm an undercover Hitman working for a backdoor of the government. Nobody knows my name. I don't have room for distractions. One distraction, people die. Her candy apple green eyes were unlike any thing I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot. The things this woman did to me with just one look made me want to walk away from the one thing I loved the most. Worst thing, I can't tell her anything about the strides I've made in my career, yet she's the only one I want to know everything. That makes any chance of us dangerous.

Kyle struggles to balance work, romance and family while he seeks answers.* *worst story description ever but at least I put something and not my knee jerk reaction of no. You're welcome. Just read it, damn it. I promise it's decent and at the very least should be low on my grammar mistakes. If there is, not my fault. Talk to the editor.

Aubrey Carr doesn't do athletes, especially not hockey players with egos bigger than the rink. As a rising star in the journalism department and a legendary campus partier, she's used to being the one in control of her stories, her image, and definitely her heart. Easton Black doesn't do rules. Late to practice, always one punch away from suspension, and carrying more baggage than he lets on, he's a walking headline waiting to happen. He's also the best player on the team, and he knows it. When Aubrey gets stuck shadowing Easton for a make-or-break feature story, sparks fly in all the wrong (and right) directions. He's cocky, infuriating, and way too observant. She's bold, untouchable, and exactly the distraction he doesn't need. The only thing they have in common? They'd rather lose the game than fall for each other. Too bad life and love don't play fair.
