Espresso absolutely hates Madeline, and will never stop his bitterness for him. Espresso thinks that he's too cocky to be any sort of "hero" the town says of him. Will espresso's feelings change for him? This is an AU/alternate universe where Madeleine and Espresso met when they were young. There came a time where Madeleine left, leaving Espresso with a promise that he might never be able to fulfill. Devastated, Espresso soon grew hatred towards his childhood friend. He given up on their promise, seeing Madeleine forgotten him like he never existed in the paladin's life in the first place. Madeleine tries to befriend him again when they meet in the future, but was met with a cold shoulder. Would their broken friendship be mended? Would it turn into something more? Two months after Espresso moves into the new kingdom, things start getting a lot more complicated. Espresso now finds himself in a position where he's dragged along as Madeleine's sidekick. Now comes a month of grappling with flattering cookies, socialization, and worst of all: feelings. I made the cover by the way! but the art on it isn't mine, it's official art.

"You know one day we'll meet again, my dear." Madeline said soothingly, heavy rain pouring down on him and his lover. Espresso had nodded and held him tightly, "I love you."
