This is a modern day version of Maui and Moana. It does not go by the story line of the movie. Moana is a little older so there is less of a age gap between her and Maui. Moana and Maui have always felt something for eachother however they both ignored it knowing that it could never happen. However what happens Moana starts to miss the ocean and being alone among the waves and leaves Motunui for a bit of space before she has to return to take her rightful place as chief and marry her betrothed? What happens when while she's on the ocean blue she sees Maui in his hawk form faltering against the wind and fall into the ocean? As she retrieves him from the water they start a whole knew journey to see Te Fiti and get answers? What happens when there feelings for eachother start to resurface? Will they be able to keep there feelings hidden so Moana can return to her island and follower her duties, or will she throw all of it away for love? If she does return to the island will Maui be able to stop her in time to save them both, or will he be to late and lose her forever? Read We Should Be to find out. This book will contain a small amount of sexual content, but only in like one chapter, so I can save the characters image. Four years after Moana and Maui, the Heroes of Motunui, rescue the island from the dark magic that was draining its life source, a new threat arises. With a grudge against both of the heroes, crustacean Tamatoa returns from the realm of monsters to try yet again to claim the heart of Tafiti and to steal Maui's hook. In an effort to stop him, Moana is kidnapped and held hostage in the realm of monsters, leaving her fate and the fate of the island in the hands of her best friend, Alohi Kahele and Maui the demigod. Note: I do not own any of the characters portrayed in this fan fiction except for Alohi and any other characters you do not recognize from the original Moana movie.

I have no shame here in shipping these two since in my own head-cannon, it would work out between them. Read, and you just might understand.
