Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger met before they started at Hogwarts and became friends. But this was before Draco knew Hermione's blood status and before Hermione knew the jerk Draco would turn out to be. Throughout their years at Hogwarts the two of them were friends on-and-off in secret. But then Draco was marked as a Death Eater and Hermione set out on a mission with Harry and Ron to kill Horcruxes. Now the Wizard War is over and the Golden Trio has returned to Hogwarts for their last school year. But so has a lot of their old friends, including Draco Malfoy. It's third year and confusion starts to spread through Hermiones mind as kindness does Draco. He makes it seem as if something has occurred. It just so happens to guide her to solve her previous one, Draco Malfoy.

Hogwarts has reopened after six months of rebuilding. All of the previous seventh years have been invited to return to school to redo the year that they missed whilst fighting for the successful defeat of the Dark Lord. Most people are feeling elation, happiness, and relief at the newfound freedom in the wizarding community, but not Hermione Granger. The war changed most people for the better, like Draco Malfoy, who is now seeking redemption for his actions. Hermione is now a broken mess and seems to have lost all positive emotion, after the torment of the war and not being able to replace her parents memories, she needs help.

Five years on from the Battle of Hogwarts where Lord Voldemort fell, Hermione Granger is revolutionising the Ministry of Magic where she works as Minister for Magic. This job also brings back people from her past and when she bumps into Draco Malfoy, she can't help but notice how different he is. But soon, Draco's dark past catches up with him and both he and Hermione will have to fight for their lives.

The Wizarding War had been won and professor McGonagall had filled the position of Headmistress of Hogwarts. Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy, had been send to Azkaban for all the things he had done and both Narcissa and Draco were lucky enough not to go with him, they got a second chance, under strict rules, from the Ministry for Magic. Harry and Ginny were still together and their relationship was better than ever. Hermione and Ron were still together as well, but the war had started to make Hermione think. Workers of the Ministry for Magic had been send out to find Hermione's parents and when they had found them in Australia, they had brought them to the Ministry where they undid Hermione's memory-erase spell on them. Hermione had gone back home to be with her parents, Harry had gone with Ginny and Ron back to the Weasley's home and Draco Malfoy had returned to the cold and dark Malfoy Manor with his mother.
