Tomioka Giyuu is emotionally and physically scarred from his sister and best friends' death. He's very quiet and distances himself from others just so that he doesn't get attached and his bad luck spreads on to them. He has suicidal thoughts and uses unhealthy coping mechanisms to help with the pain and suffering. Through out the story, we learn more about Giyuu's past and why he is how he is in the present and we will also see how Giyuu overcomes his negative and suicidal thoughts and becomes happy once again. His life has improved a lot from his tragic childhood but when he begins to recognize signs in his new friend, he begins to question if Katsuki Bakugo is as put together as he seems and if the anger is who he truly is or a tendency learned from elsewhere.
