In the emergency room, every second matters and some wounds follow you home. Dr. Eleanor "Nell" Carver is one of the senior residents in Pittsburgh's busiest ER - quick on her feet, relentlessly capable, and far better at saving other people than taking care of herself. Between endless night shifts, traumatic cases, and the quiet exhaustion of her own treatment, Nell is trying to hold together a life that never seems to slow down long enough for her to breathe. The one constant in the chaos is Dr. Jack Abbot - the attending physician who knows exactly when to push, when to stay quiet, and when to simply stand beside her. Their relationship is steady, private in all the ways that matter, and built in the spaces between ambulance sirens. But while Nell spends her shifts fighting for strangers, the people closest to her are struggling too. Her younger sister, Lois - the hospital's stubborn head chef - is trying to keep everyone fed while pretending she doesn't need looking after herself. And Nell's best friend Frank Langdon, freshly separated and emotionally unravelling beneath it all, finds himself unexpectedly drawn toward Lois in the middle of the hospital chaos. Talia Robinavitch If you were to ask those who work at the Pitt to describe Talia, they would tell you she is pure sunshine and positivity. They would also tell you that you can't get a more caring and gentler nurse anywhere in the world. She is the 20-year-old daughter of the chief attending Michael Robinavitch or more commonly known as Doctor Robby. Not only is she known for her compassion and positivity she is also known for her naivety due to her only being a nurse for about 2 months. Because of this Dana Evans has made sure to take her under her wing and make sure her naivety that naturally comes with a new job at her age does not get her into any dangerous situations. More importantly a situation that may take her spark which is something the medical workers know all too well at the Pitt. Michael Robinavitch describes Talia as the miracle he never knew he needed. Surprisingly Robby is not Talia's Biological father. She was left in the hospital waiting room when she was only 1 month old. Robby who had only been working at the Pitt for five months chose to, at first, look after her for a temporary time until there would be a stable foster home for her. But after time and delays in finding her a home he slowly grew attached and she reminded him of himself when his own mother had left him when he was eight. After 2 months of looking after Little Talia he decided he himself would bring her up as his own and be the parental figure he always wanted growing up.

Ellie Robinavitch grew up in the emergency room-doing homework at the nurses' station, learning which alarms mattered, and watching her dad hold the chaos together like it was second nature. She thought he was untouchable. But over time, something started to shift. Not enough to name. Not enough to stop. Just small moments-missed sleep, shorter answers, a heaviness that seemed to follow him home. The kind of unraveling that happens quietly. The kind you don't realize you're watching until you're already in the middle of it. Now, as Ellie is pulled deeper into the world she thought she understood, she's left trying to figure out where the line is- between holding it together... and losing yourself completely.

Dr. Maya Sullivan is a smart woman. She knows when to step in and when to hold back. She knows how to read a situation before anyone says a word. She knows better than to expect things to stay the same once they have already shifted. So when Dr. Langdon walks back into the hospital, she doesn't ask questions. She doesn't ask where he has been or what has changed or whether any of it matters now. She already knows the answer. They work. They keep it professional. They say only what is necessary and nothing more. And somehow, it still feels the same. In the way they move around each other. In the way they don't have to think during a case. In the way everything falls into place too easily, like nothing ever broke between them. That is the problem. Because Maya remembers exactly where it did. She remembers the moment everything turned, the words that went too far, the kind that do not come back once they are said. She remembers how quickly something solid can fracture when you finally see what was there all along. He acts like it can be fixed. Like time and distance are enough to undo it. Maya knows better. Some things do not disappear. They settle. They wait. They stay just beneath the surface, quiet until something shifts and brings them back all at once. And in a place where pressure is constant and nothing stays contained for long, it does not take much. Just one look. One mistake. One step too close. For everything between them to break open again.

Studies show that, on average, Paramedics face assault every 46 hours and injury-causing attacks every 9 days, with injury rates four times higher than the national average. It is notewhile, of course, that female EMT's have a disproportionately greater risk of violence-related injuries. When Wendy Devlin elected to become a paramedic, she hadn't done so with the idea in mind to become a statistic. Unfortunately, it is also notewhile that life doesn't always go the way you expect. Or in which: she begins working alongside the same Doctor who saved her life, and in return, finds she might just save his in the long run. Frank Langdon x oc
