At the age of six, Katerina Samarina had moved to Russia with her family. She hated ice skating. Everything changed when she met Victor Nikiforov. He taught her to love skating by teaching her how to skate. Next thing they knew, they started to skate together in small competition to national level in the next few years. Over time, she developed a crush that she never revealed to anyone. Everything went great for her until when Katerina had to move due to her father's work. She thought that he would never see and skate with him again. At the age of twenty one, she moved back to Russia to care for her grandparents. Finally when her adoptive-brother, Yuuri comes home, she also gets some unexpected visitors who bring back her inspiration to continue doing competitions.
