"when the tide rises, death would claim her. Perhaps drowning was a gentler death than dying in the hunger games. It would be like everyday. She would disappear into the waves, the water like a blanket around her body. Only this time, there was no coming back." In a dark vision of the near future, twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live TV show called the Hunger Games. There is only one rule kill or be killed. When seventeen-year-old Ondiar Brandt from District 4 finds herself selected for the 57. Hunger Games, all she wants to do is run away, even tho it is too late. She knows, that she has little chance of survival but finds herself in an problematic situation. Will she run away again or finally be brave and fight for those she loves? Hunger Games fanfiction, concept, worldbuilding and other Ideas are from Suzanne Collins and not my work. English is not my main language so please be kind and enjoy reading. :)

Blaise's jaw clenched at my words. Friends. He took another step forward closing the distance between us with quiet, deliberate purpose. "Friends?" he repeated, voice dangerously soft. "Is that what you want?" His dark eyes locked onto mine, unrelenting. "Because friends don't kiss like we did. Friends don't stay up talking until dawn. Friends don't..." He paused, almost struggling for a second like he was fighting himself just to say it. "...Look at each other the way we do." A beat of silence stretched between us in the torch lit hallway. Then he tilted his head slightly smirking but it didn't reach his eyes. "So if that's what you really want... fine." He took one slow step back. "But don't pretend we're just friends." His voice dropped lower, almost a whisper now. "You and I both know that ship sailed the second I caught you as a bloody sparrow." As a shapeshifter Maria has a lot of secrets to keep, luckily she meets two Slytherin boys in Hogwarts, that are willing to keep them. But what price does she have to pay, because the Ice Prince of Slytherin doesn't seem to just do something out of charity. As time passes the darkness from her past begins to creep its way back into her life and this time, she cant run away. She has to decide: freedom or the boy with an heart made from ice, that seems to melt in her presence? • this fanfiction is not based on actual events in the book and has no connection to the cannon story it simply includes characters and the world setting, nothing more. • English is not my first language, so please be nice :) Enjoy reading! 🫶
