After a long battle against justice, Evan Buckley, mostly known as Buck is finally back at house 118. Injured in duty, his main purpose always was to take back his job on behalf his captain, persuaded he wasn't ready yet. When pursuing the city and his friends in justice, Buck lost the trust and faith of his colleagues and his return maybe won't be what he expected. After all he've been through, the eyes of his best friend could be the most difficult thing to survive. And sadly the year promises to be particularly tough and he might well need the support of his friends. His family. And specially Eddie's. Buck is 9 when his sister leaves him and his family alone for her boyfriend Doug when she turns 18. Still at age 9, Buck realizes he's getting even less and less attention from his parents causing him to increase his reckless ideas from skateboarding accidents to playing with fires. He's craving any type of attention from his parents even negative. Bobby Nash firefighter Captain of the 118 lost his family in a fire. His firehouse gets a call of a reported house fire and the only person saved is a small kid named Evan Buckley. Without any family willing to take him, and the police unable to locate his sister, Bobby gets clearance to give the child a roof over his head. He was drawn to the boy, and he knows he can take good care of him.

After Buck files the lawsuit and has gone back to work, everyone at the 118 ignores him. So when he gets seriously injured will anyone notice or will it be to late. Set sometime after 3x04 but doesn't follow the episodes.

Buck opens his door to find a baby on his doorstep and has no idea what to do with it. Eddie is roped in to help and the two men help Buck get used to fatherhood. A month later and Buck has an accident, throwing his life into disarray as he loses his independence as a father. Once again, thank god for Eddie and his patience. After the lawsuit and their talk at the grocery store, Bobby, Hen, Eddie and Chimney didn't talk to Buck. Maddie suggested something to Buck, but she didn't expect how that would affect Buck.
