One-Shot that takes place after 19x07. Meredith moved to Boston and Nick decides to fight for her and for their love.

We last saw Meredith and Nick have a huge fight on the last scene of the season 18 finale and Meredith tells Nick to go and Nick surprisingly followed. Not to mention the pressure on her to be the chief with blood shortages and with Owen and Teddy quitting. But what if Nick didn't leave?

May 2051, somewhere in Minnesota... When the person you love starts forgetting pieces of your life together there's really only one thing you can do: remembering strong enough for both of you. The title of this story comes from the title of Wildfire by Cautious Clay which is, as you may know, the song that played when Meredith and Nick met again in the beginning of season 18.

This story picks up at Grey's Anatomy 14x17 when Meredith meets Nick. The only difference? Derek is still alive. However, since Meredith found out about Derek's kiss in D.C. their marriage isn't quite the same. They lost their "sparkle" and Nick makes Meredith feel something that she hasn't felt in years... Post 19x18. Based on 19x19 promo and pics. They had always been able to talk about anything. But moments like this weren't exactly a classic in Meredith Grey's life and deeds. So she told herself it was permissible to panic a little. She ran her hands down her sides repositioning her dress and felt her ears burning as she stood in front of Nick's hotel room door. She still had no idea what she was going to say to him when she finally knocked.
